I was away for 2 weeks! So long, that I even have problem logging on to blogger *shy smile.

I went to Malacca, Malaysia on 3 Dec- 10Dec. I attended a Bible camp for young people. That was my first ever Bible camp, though I ever attended a few 道学营 organised by the youths from Heavenly Tao. There, we learnt more on the person Lord Jesus Christ, some new testament Bible characters on devotion and there were nightly Gospel meetings too.

I had BCLS recourse yesterday! There is a few changes, of which one of them is that the compression for one man CPR has to be at least 5cm!
I dreaded CPR. But this time, I did not cry.

I only managed to pass on my 3rd and last attempt, phew~!* with tremendous help from the trainers.

They provided me with Milo (energy beverage), biscuits, chocolate (lol) just so I have energy to do 5cycles of 30 compressions. They let me use the softest manikin, they do the counting for me, they encouraged me throughout till I passed.

I used the same black paint that I didn't throw away yet. haha I can't believe I managed to use more of that black polish. It's getting really hard to pick up from the polish bottle.

.. and stamped near the edges. Ring finger is marred (arggh;;;) so I sticked pearl bits to cover up.

I don't redo nail polish nowadays, if it's only a little flaw, as it will only get worse and worse.

Today I met up with a friend. We've known each other like since forever. sweet.

She's working hard and it's good to know she has aspirations to achieve more. She is beaming with positive energy and it inspires me.

it is such a shame that we lost contact for some time in between.

I'm such a misfit. I lost friends here and there. My romantic partners changed quickly. I won't initiate to meet with friends, I didn't show enough concern, and I'm not sensitive to make people want to stay with me. FML.

Everyone I know loves Cath Kidston. It has the loveliest vintage flora, polka dots, little strawberries and colorful stripes bags/ pouches/ handphone cover/ items.

This week I painted my nails light blue and added little designs from Cath Kidston boat prints. I really ♥ this week's nails, I keep looking at it. On my right hand I only painted a lighthouse and a sail boat on my thumb and ring finger because it is more difficult to paint with my left hand.

I stamped on my big toes using Konad, but dotted the other toes using a unbent paper clip and normal white polish. (because I wanted to save the special white polish, and only used it sparingly :P)

I think by dotting in the pattern '5' you see on a dice, and add more if there is extra space will make sure the pattern turn out orderly and cute.

I'm happy to make sure my toes are painted all the time though I'm wearing covered working shoes. It just makes me happy. Somemore, sometimes we need to remove our shoes, you'll never know!

Last week I went to 2 kindergartens to give talks. I ♥ kindergarten talks! Those K1 children are really adorable and they say the darnest things! They are sensitive, inquisitive and will not hesitate to praise pretty things . Oh I digress. That day, I have to remove my shoes before entering the classroom. Within minutes, the little ones noticed my flora toe nails and they told me it is so pretty! and I am pretty too!

Friday is Min's birthday. She invited us to spend time with her!

We didn't really planned anything and decide to just be spontaneous and have fun in each other's company.

Hmm. I supposed we were tired from kindergarten talks, Mel was under the weather, so I guess the day was so-so, not truly as happy as nail times. So SORRY! MIN! Next time we will make up for you! ♥

So we met at Raffles Place and dined at Zen Zen. 3 sets of 'Value Meals' for $33+
Main + Soup/Salad/Fruits + a Drink
It so happened that Mel had soup, I chose the salad and Min had the fruits lol :)

Ordering is over the counter just like fast food place, but they will serve the food to you shortly.

Food: 4/5 - YUM! I liked the sauce
Ambience: 3.5/5 - there are not much other people. but it's kind of cold.
Value: 4/5 - I guess the price is OK, since we all got the value meal
Service:3/5 - the food is served really fast

We loiter around and is disappointed with Raffles- there's nothing caters to us. :( the shops starts closing at 8pm. We eventually go to Bugis to buy cheap accessories. I got myself red+blue hairbands.

Eat ice-cream and buy some masks and nailpolish and went home.SO BORING.

Do you know? Shopping in malls is one of the top 10 boring things to do in Singapore.
Next time must plan for some exciting things to do when we hang out!

This color is dark purple with sparkle when light hits on it. Added white polka dots and stick two pieces of purple ribbon fimos.

This is the 1st time I tried fimo, hope it stays!

I bought 3 fimo sticks from Jurong point with @-}--

It's quite difficult to slice the fimo nicely. I used a pen knife and a post-it pad as the chopping board.

Harry Potter

hmm. This is less fun.

I started reading Harry Potter books when I was in Sec 1 when my classmates recommend and lent me the books. I was hooked instantly. Then there is a new movie almost every year, and the local TV channel 5 would have stay at home specials playing HP movies in parts. For the first 4 movies, I thought the stories are fun and adventurous as Harry and his close friends have to overcome challenges like real life chess games, puzzles, quidditch games, time travel, fighting dragons etc.

I got busy and didn't really follow the latest 3 books and movies. I recalled reading Order of Phoenix, the thick thick 5th book, but I wasn't reading seriously I guess. LOL because I can't remember much.. HOHO

Last night I watched part 2 of the last movie. I was sad that a war have to break out, Hogwarts was destroyed, there were lots of damage done and people died. :(

It's so rushed, and predictable. Good side will eventually win.

Those people grew up, marry and have kids = abrupt happy ending = not shiok :(

it all ends. OK I'll accept that.

Vivo Pizza

How true! Because back then, they fixed the meeting point and time precisely and there is hardly any last minute changes. But now we were so vague "meet after work @ CQ" and we'll call/message when we are near the area. This is ok so far, but today One friend can't make it, and I wasnt sure the meeting was still on. My other friend left her phone with her brother, and thus was un-contactable!

I'm so hungry that time :P I went to find food.

I went to this Vivo Pizza place at B1, and ordered this, this and this.

Mushroom soup. OK. I shallO stop taking mushroom soup so regularly. 好喝都变不好喝 LOL

But this was like instant mushroom soup. BOO

Power Juice
This is carrot and pineapple. This has the enzym-y taste.Quite special

Last week, mama prepared Carrot+pear+apple+pineapple juice, and that was really YUM x 4

Food: 2 (because I like the Juice, only the juice)

Ambience: 3 (It wasn't crowded on a Fri night, not packed, not noisey, so not bad I guess. I was alone 1st and was led to sofa chair (for 4) by the window. I'm always flattered when the waiter give a seat by the window. I got a feeling operators always put attractive people there. think too much? LOL)

Value: 3 (We spend about $24+ for 2 people. But if the soup is really instant, I will really feel cheated paying $2.50 for that.)

Service: 4 (Food is served faster than expected and that's important because I'm famished! Staffs are smiley and I'm grateful they allow me to leave halfway to fetch my friend :P)

This place is just slightly better than Bakerzin. Next visit is for drinks/ desserts, NOT MEAL.

M Chocolate Melts

Last Sunday, We went to makan (eat) after the talk. We tried MacDonald's new chocolate melts.

Here's our two Choco Melts for the price of one! $2.80.

It's bread, and warm chocolate fudge on top. It's YUMMY only when it's hot and freshly prepared. Say, if you were to enjoy the choco melts later, it's not so nice any more as the bread has soaked the chocolate.

It's too sweet for me. I will need to share with someone.

30 years of practice

Last Sunday, I attended a dental talk organised by dentists of class 81. This reunion, they did a charity+ CPE event to celebrate 30 years of practice.

30 years.

WOW.

The talk was mainly prosthodontic, and about dental 3D CBCT radiographs. Interesting, chim and inspiring.

In particular, this DR who really wanted to quit in the 2nd year made it this far to help people to restore their smile. They are all big doctors, dental radiographers, lecturers and professors.

There is a free BMI reading machine in the NTUC foodcourt at KTP Hospital. We just have to stand onto the machine and it will automatically register the height and weight as well as the BMI reading within seconds. It will print a small slip of paper at the end.

I confessed that when I see the height reading is lingering at 1.59m+-, I stretched a little (just a little) to achieve 1.60m reading before the machine print the slip. LOL!!

Also on the paper, it advised that my healthy weight range is 47.4-58.6kg.
WHO WANTS TO BE THAT HEAVY?! NEVER.

However, my BMI is lower than ideal and that means I'm at risk for nutritional deficiencies.

Bakerzin

I was attracted to the meal-box options and we decided to dine at Bakerzin Northpoint for dinner.

I can't change the Aglio Olio Ham Bacon to the mushroom option :( so I ordered my food separately.
We pay $20+ each.

Service is fair, the food serves really fast. Ambience is OK, but I wished they had played some good music, instead of some repetitive rhythm thing.

This is 3 yums out of 5 yums!

It is not too thick, not too sweet. The portion is just nice. I'm happy to have an alternative other than the mushroom soup.

Creamy Mushroom Linguini

Very unhappy. 0 yum from me.

I know I won't enjoy this at the first few bites. Simply don't like the sauce and the taste. I left more than 1/2 behind, lol inspired by Dr Leslie T quote- "Never waste your calories on yucky food"

I like the small little crunchy things in the middle. 3 Yums :DD
You know what, the lady at another table is upset when she see the roll on her table, as it is different from the picture in the menu! She ordered the meal-box because of that particular dessert only to get disappointed. haha''!

(a little bit too) Green Salad

It has green leafy veg, cherry tomatoes, red and yellow capsicums. The sauce is sweet and pink in color. Healthy, 4 yums! (but expensive) haha

Ice Tea.

It comes with a small jar of sweetener.

Verdict: I'm sure I won't be back for meals. Desserts/ cakes maybe.

I got this from a pushcart stall at SGH, outside the foodcourt at block 5.

I noticed these little babies in different colors of sequin dress when I zoomed past the stall before meeting Min for lunch (I'm late >.<) SO CUTE!

We went to check it out after lunch. At closer look, however, those bunnies has funny face shapes that made them not so cute anymore.

I didnt intent to buy though it's only $2.50.

BUT.

there is this red uglydoll-look-alike plush toy. It has velcro on the hands and feet. Then I realise his eyes and mouth are velcroed onto it too. So I wanted to show Min that I can rearrange the toy's face, but something went wrong.

I RIPPED OFF ITS RIGHT EYE. fml.

I quickly put the doll down, the stall owner didn't know about this.
To compensate, I ought to buy something right?
And ta-daa~ This is how the bunny came home with me.

I changed my toe colors from Navy to neutral colors from E- nails- Peach orange and Eggshell. Drew in black heart/ diagonal borders and fill in leopard prints on eggshell regions. You can't really see, but I doted silver in the middle of the prints. +topcoat.

I watched last night's KangXi, the Taiwan ladies called the big toes '大拇哥' (Directly translates into Big Toe Bro) LOL interesting!

And it is the best, man. Cos it has the biggest nail surface to do nail art! I love my other toes nails for being mini too. I love my toes just the way they are. :D

I've been a

1) Factory worker
For a while during vacation when I was sec 3. Mum workplace needed extra people so I went to earn extra pocket money. That small factory cooks and packs sauces, like mushroom sauce, oyster sauce, soy sauce etc.

They have machineries to cook and load the sauces into the glass bottles. But the part of sticking labels on the bottle neck is done manually. My job was to do that and put them into a carton and seal it up when it is full.

It was really simple and repetitive. I can do it really fast and nice. hehee The wage is calculated proportionately to the number of cartons of labelled sauces one did, everytime I sealed a box, I feel my inner voice singing ''ka-ching''$$ ''ka-ching'' $$ LOL

The tough part of the job was to stack up the cartons they sometimes need us to do own our own as the uncles are busy. It is heavy and sometimes caused scratches my the arms ;(. And some days they needed to rush the output, we had to paste the stickers while the sauces are still HOT.

I don't really remember how long I did this parttime job, probably 1 month+ before I go back to school when school reopens.

2) Retail sales promoter

This is after O levels, a short term full time job introduced by cousin. I work inside Isetan at PP selling children's clothes. My friend Aud was there too. So coincidental! :DD

3) Librarian

NYP library hire students to work on Saturdays. I seized the opportunity and worked in year 1 sem 2 and in year 2. Shelving books, reminding people to keep their volume down, and chase people out before the closing time. My duty area is in the design wing. I enjoy all the design books, thought thick and heavy, are so pretty! I did not renew the contract because I had clinic attachment on Saturdays in Sem 2.

4) DT

My current job since graduation. It's cool and fun because kids say the darnest things. hahaa

I don't know Smurf very much, went to see some youtube cartoon clips and I find those little blue characters super cute! They speaks Smurf language where all the nouns and verbs are replaced with 'smurf'. Each of them has a personality or job and they are named after it. For example, Brainy, Lazy, Dreamy, Grouchy. Something like, the 7 Dwarfs in Snow White Tale. Handy fixs things, Harmony plays instruments.

Smurfette is the only girl character in the cartoon. But then again, all characters are one of a kind.
I liked Grouchy most. He consistently hates everything and that's so funny.

Nail art is really difficult, that's why I only did one on my ring finger.

I'm quite happy with outcome and will continue to practice more every week. :DD

The alternate red white blue strips on air mails is really attractive. This week, I did airmail nailart!

On thumb, it is like a stamp you see on The Daily Nail. If you can see, I wrote 21 Nov inside the circle. That's my birthday :) On my right hand it looks like meteorite hahahaa FAIL.

Nail polish for men?

I recall my poly friends asked me what in a guy I look out for to be my boyfriend. I think really hard and my answer is..

his toe nails must be nice.

Guys who take care of nails, take care of himself and therefore will take care of the girlfriend/ wife and family.

He should have short clean nails. That's good enough.

If any guy liked nail polish. It's perfectly OK!
but not to the extent that one has more nail polishes than I have, that's totally wtf?!

Adam Lambert, David Beckham, Rock stars and 小宇（my 小宇♥）are seen with their nails painted sometimes.

Nail polish for guys ARE NOT GAY. It's kind of sad that the society does not approve guys wearing nail polishes and there is little or no market for men.

Manly colors like Matte black, dark blue, grey, sliver would look acceptable I think. Guys don't have to paint every nails, just 1-2 finger nails (maybe the thumb and index finger/ ring finger) just because they are different from the ladies.

I doubt guys have much skills to paint well, they should get someone to help especially on the dominant hand. Or just use invisible clear polish, even if it is messed up it's still not too bad.

Same rules: once the paint has chipped/ worn, or the nails has grown, it's time to redo! Usually it's about once a week.

Guys! Always remember: SHORT, CLEAN nails. If it gets long, I think it's just like weapons that might hurt/ scratch people. Scratching is ku-niang. If guy need to fight, use fists. Imagine the long nails to sink into their own flesh when clenched. hahaha

One of my pet peeve is guys keeping some nails long, especially the pinkie finger like Phua Chu Kang. Ew and ew. Nails are not for digging ear wax or clearing nostrils! Even if they don't do that, it's disgusting because I would assume they did.

I will start thinking really hard on nail-dos that might be suitable for guys and post it here when I thought of something. ;)

Purple Blue Pink Green and Yellow nails. They are cute on it's own, but I'm too free, so I stamped polka dots.
White ones on left hand and black ones on right hands.

Nature Republic is having 50% storewide sale, it's CRAZY. Nail polish is $1.05 per bottle. While stocks last, there is no more nail polish remover. :(

Andersen's Family Fondue

After the movie, we went to eat at this ice cream place.

Min has a 50% coupon for this family fondue, after less it costed slightly less than $22.

We are concerned if both of us are able to finish this as it is meant for family, ideally 4-5 people. And hoho YES WE CAN wahaa''

We can choose 10 scoops of Ice cream, and the lady suggested we could have 1 scoop of every favour on the menu. And we're OK with it.

The ice cream melt pretty fast, probably it is close to the candle below the chocolate. This is really really yummy EXCEPT the Rum and Raisin favour that both of us find Eww. Min says it's like superglue and I agreed.

The chocolate is smooth, warm and it is really sad that there is still about 1/3 that we can't finish and it is so wasted.

I like the crispy waffle cones!很香! but the cookies is a tad too hard.

After this, dinner is postponed cos we're full already. :DD

Fruitty Nails

I did this pink and red strawberries nails!

I bought green and red polishes just because I wanted to create this nail art. hoho

I took 1 week vacation leave, I do not necessarily need to remove my nail polish. But I did anyway, LOL! haha so I can paint a NEW color and design :DD

The red strawberry is more realistic, but I'm not used to having red nails, so I had more pink ones. This nail art can have an illusion that make my already short nails looks shorter!

This week, I have Thistle snow cookie nails! ♥

Ever since I start getting active in turning lijinx into a nail blog, I tried to rename every images as detailed as possible to gain more unique views, because people who search for pictures would land here. HAHAHA

As a base color, I put on E- purple polish. And the funny thing is that I didn't realize this polish has a name!

It has a sticker beneath the bottle. Elianto 35 Thistle Nail Color.

Thistle is this poke poke flower, also Scotland's national flower.

Sometimes this nail color looked like pink and sometimes it is definitely purple. Cool right?

I wanted some animal-ly prints on my nails to match my feet. I failed at drawing zebra prints and had to redo! *sob

I did this half way leopard prints on my feet on top of a very light pink polish.

I hoped the leopard prints will be more obvious, but Egg Shell color seemed to be too dark. Anyway, I liked this very much! :D

The last Orangy pedicure lasted almost 2 weeks. The color and shine is intact, just that I can't stand the cuticle area is paint-less, as my nail grew. hoho'' So I removed it yesterday. DIY 泡脚 at home too. hehee.

Flowers in Clinic

Last week I bought potted artificial flowers from Parkway Parade.

Placed the small yellow one by the window.

And this bigger orange one near the sink at my work bench. This flower really add points to my mobile clinic. No matter how messy my workdesk gets, (hoho, not that I'm a messy girl, you know, sometimes I can get really busy..) this flower sort of amazingly disguise the untidiness!

I really like my clinic. I do my own sweeping and mopping leh. One day I hope you could really visit my clinic.

Nail art flowers

We met up for nail time last night!

I did this pink flora nail art with a paper clip. I sticked a red sparkling stone (Mel's)on the thumb nail. I ♥ it being girly and sweet.

Painted light pink (Min's) from Nature R- as a base color. It is opaque, almost white.

Used a darker pink to dot on the flowers, a turquoise green at the sides.

We saw a tiny paint brush for nailart at a pushcart and it costs $9+. I didn't buy. Nail stones and stickers are really pretty! When I receive my 0.5month + $250 bonus I'll buy buy buy~!!! hoho

Om Nom Nom Let's Sweets

Yesterday we dined at Let's Sweets at Bishan. Expensive, no creepe, but we're so full by the 70min!

Let's Sweets is a Japanese Buffet and sweets, they have pizzas, pastas, salads, rice, chocolate fondue, drinks and desserts. $22+- per person, eat all you can for 80mins. But they will charge for any wastage by weight. Staffs are courteous and they will help you to remove your plates efficiently when you make your 2nd/ 3rd rounds of food haha.

This is a picture of their strawberry mousse. I'm so attracted to the pearly sugar deco on top! SO SWEET~

Small serving, so you can try as many different variety as possible.

I took a purple macaron and that is the 1st macaron I ever tried. The outside crust and the soft cream inside are v sweet, so sweet that I didn't like it so much.

If you like sweet sweet stuffs, I think you'll like this place. There is other branch at Bugis and Plaza Sing, but there might have a long queue.

1st Pedicure session at Nail Salon

I tagged along with my best-est friends to Chinatown.

Didn't want to spend $$ at first, but I'm so tempted when I sat next to them! So I had my 1st ever pedicure in a nail salon

So this is what happened
1) Soaked both feet into the basin of warm water
2) Nail polish are removed, slight 'digging' around the sides of toenails to remove dead skins/ dirt
3) Exfoliation beneath the big toe, heels and soles areas !! this procedure is most ticklish and I would always want to draw my leg off the lady's hand
4) base coat + 2 coats of nail color of your choice + quick dry

total time taken is 45 min.

I would say the color choice is quite limited. They don't have the latest colors. I chose Pearly pink, but the lady says it will be too light to show on toe nails as mine are really tiny. I changed my mind and switched to Minty light green. But the color when applied on my last 2 nails is unsatifactory. She suggested a striking orange color from OPI.

and I said OK.

Later the lady asked me if I wanted to add another color at the tips to make it more interesting. She used the cheap nail art glitter to draw the edge. I wasn't happy and I said my toes remind me of red packets! So she did the glitter on the last 4 toenails only.

I just googled, I think the nail color is Tasmanian Devil Made Me Do It

overall experience: 3/5
The ex-foliation is effective, my feet is softer and smoother. I wished they have more nail colors, and stop hard selling.

We'll be going back 2 more times, because we had pre-paid for a package and that way it would be more cost-effective.

After last week's blue sky white clouds nails, I realise blue nails are really striking and I really ♥ it!

This week, I had green and blue stripes nails because it's school holiday already! June holidays Happy!!

Google 'holiday' and almost all the images that appear coastal sand, clear blue sea and the limitless sky. Super nice, but I don't think I'll enjoy myself if I were there, because I don't like to be in the sun. haha

Today I went to Serangoon Nex mall despite still being cough-ffy, (I seemed to have perma-cough anyways lol) I felt that if I didn't go out it's so wasted! and work will start on Mon and I'll have mild feeling of regret on Mon through Fri if I didn't enjoy during the weekends.

First, I bought some hair accessories, 2 pieces of claw-like pins in a pack. I find it really useful! Something I'll buy again next time. Bobby pins will sometimes spoil the nail polish on my index finger because I used my finger to push the pin apart before using on my hair. Now I'm converting to that claw-like pins :) Those won't leave marks too.

I'm seriously considering using a branded skincare. I think I'm sick of over the counter brands from Watsons/ Guardian/ Sasa etc. So I went around the branded skincare stores and enquire more. Tried some lotion, but I kept telling myself that I shall not buy on impulse, I will wait for the Great Singapore Sale. GSS 2011 starts next week 27 May!

I went to trim eyebrow too. I'd never had good experience with trimming eyebrow, I'm never satisfied with the results. I have thin and scarce eyebrows that is shapeless and I know it. Somehow when I hear the lady telling me that I'm not very happy. What to do, I'm born this way. The lady convinced me to hire her service to trim my eyebrow though.

She removed so much that now I'll have to draw my brows before leaving house :( I let her know that but she is not apologetic and try to hard sell eyebrow embroidery that costs $800++. ARGGHH I hate you.

Bought a small bag. :D

Tried on a white dress that is really pretty, didn't buy it because it is too body hugging. Visible panty lines is a big fashion NO-NO, while invisible panty attracts chee-ko-pek (perverts).

Oh, earlier today I tried Wendy's bake potato. It's not bad when it's really hot. But when it turns lukewarm it's slightly less appealing. I had Pastamania! cheese lover pizza for dinner, and I didn't like it as much as Mediterranean pasta, although I cannot pronounce that word. I'll get my friend to order for me or I'll have to point to the menu and say 'this one'.hahah'' And I think that if you ordered Pizza, you will have to wait longer compared to pasta.

Shopping is a happy pastime. I love Singapore's big big air-con malls. :DDD

This week I decide to do something exciting and try out nail art other than Konad stamps.

I chose E- nude pink as the base colour.
Then slowly draw in the black spots using a needle.

Finally, dotting a darker pink polish in the middle of the spots.

I'm pretty happy with the results! I LOVE IT! One day I'll do the pattern on my nails ;)

I got myself a pair of Schu (click.) at Cityhall yesterday. It is a chance find, nice, comfortable, and it's on sale!
Now, I will not wear covered shoes all the time.
